Full article text
Many feeds send a summary. Re-fetch the original for one article, or turn on the crawler for a feed so every entry arrives with its full text.
A feed decides what it sends: some carry the whole article, many a paragraph and a link. MicroRSS can fetch the article page itself and show its main text instead.
One article
Open the entry, then Re-fetch original content in its ⋯ menu. MicroRSS fetches the page, extracts the article and stores it, so the next opening is instant and the text is searchable.
A whole feed
In Feed Settings → Original Content, tick Fetch original content (crawler). From then on every new entry of that feed is fetched in full as it arrives. The crawler is a Pro feature; on the free plan the box is shown but cannot be ticked.
The extraction finds the main text on its own for most pages. Where it picks the wrong block, a scraper rule names the right one: a CSS selector for the article's container, comma-separated when there are several. The selector is used only while the crawler is on.
Rewrite rules run after extraction, on fetched and on feed content alike; they are described under Rewrite and scraper rules, together with the assistant that drafts both kinds for you.
What cannot be fetched
A site that puts a bot check in front of its pages, or refuses readers outright, answers with an error; the entry keeps the feed's own content and the feed's fetch log says what the site answered. Pages that render their text with scripts only come back empty for the same reason: the fetcher reads the page as served.
