MicroRSS

Getting started

What is MicroRSS

A fast web RSS reader with a feed engine of its own. It reads feeds, Telegram channels, Bluesky, GitHub and plain web pages, and hides the noise with rules.

MicroRSS collects what the sites you follow publish and shows it in one place, newest first, with nothing read twice. You add a site, a feed or a link to a channel; the engine fetches it on a schedule and keeps the entries until you have read them.

One reader for feeds and for sites that have none

Most sites publish an RSS or Atom feed, and MicroRSS reads those like any reader. It also reads a number of places that publish no feed at all: Telegram channels, Bluesky accounts, GitHub issues and releases, app and plugin updates, free games, Bandcamp labels, Docker Hub tags, Twitch videos and more. For those you paste the page's own link, and MicroRSS recognises it. The full list, with examples, is on the Built-in sources pages.

For a page nothing recognises, a listing you want to follow, there is the page feed: you point at the items on the page and MicroRSS turns them into a feed of its own. That is the «build one from the page» link in Add Feed.

The engine is ours

MicroRSS does not sit on top of another service. It fetches every feed itself, once for everyone who follows it, on an interval that adapts to how often the feed posts. New entries arrive in the background; a feed that stops answering is paused and told about in its fetch log, and a manual refresh wakes it.

Rules before you read

A feed can carry keep and block rules: a match is hidden the moment it arrives, not after you have scrolled past it. Change a rule and the engine re-applies it to what is already stored; remove it and the hidden entries come back unread. Rules use the same grammar as Miniflux, so they carry over.

A catalogue of working feeds

The feed catalogue lists feeds by topic that MicroRSS polls itself, so it shows only what answers and posts. You can follow one feed from it or a whole collection as a category.

Plans

A free account follows up to 30 feeds, refreshed hourly. Pro raises the limits, keeps history longer and adds the full-text crawler and API keys. The numbers are under Plans and limits.
