RSS feed for WordPress plugin and theme updates
WordPress.org has feeds for a plugin's support forum and its SVN commits, but not for its releases. MicroRSS reads the plugin's record in the WordPress.org API, the same data the plugin directory shows, and makes an entry for each version with the changelog section written for it.
Paste the plugin's or theme's page on wordpress.org into Add Feed. Yoast SEO, Rank Math, WooCommerce, Elementor, Astra: anything in the public directory.
What you get
- One entry per version, with the changelog for that version and the release date of the current one
- A link to the version's zip, the plugin's icon or the theme's screenshot as the image
- The newest five versions on the first add, then every new one as it is released
- Themes too, from wordpress.org/themes
How to add it
- 1 Copy the link
Open the WordPress.org page you want to follow in your browser and copy its address.
- 2 Paste it into Add Feed
MicroRSS recognises the link and offers the feed; nothing else to fill in.
- 3 Read
New entries arrive on the feed's schedule, with the rest of your subscriptions.

Questions
- Does WordPress.org have an RSS feed for plugin updates?
- Not for releases. It has a feed for the support forum and one for the SVN log; MicroRSS builds a release feed from the plugin API.
- Why would I want this if WordPress shows update notices?
- To read what changed before you update, across every site you manage, in one place, and to see minor releases you might otherwise skip.
- Does it work for themes?
- Yes; a theme has no changelog in the API, so the entry carries the version and its date.
